Meetings of the Sacramento Orchid Society

Sacramento Orchid Society has FREE monthly meetings open to everyone. Plenty of free parking is available in the Odd Fellows Hall parking lot.  Please DO NOT PARK at Chik-fil-A.   Meetings are held the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month at 7 pm.  Doors open at 6pm for AOS judging and socializing.

Doors open at 6 pm and the meeting begins at 7 pm

The "Plant Doctor" will be available in the kitchen from 6:15 -7:00 pm.  Our AOS Judges have generously offered to provide this service while they are sequestered prior to the judging session.  If you have an ailing plant in need of diagnosis, please bring it enclosed in a plastic zip-top bag to prevent any transmission of pests or diseases.

The 6:30 pm "Kitchen Class" will be A SURPRISE - stop in, learn, and see what's going on!!

Speakers for January will be our AOS Judges who will present the AOS award-winning orchids displayed by our members in 2014. Judges' commentaries will include how and why the plant gained its recognition, in addition to the grower's achievement of cultural success.  This is a "Don't Miss" session designed to help us become better orchid growers and, perhaps, garner those special AOS awards...HCC, AM, and FCC or the CHM.for ourselves!

The Raffle Table will be provided by Hawaii Hybrids, known for sending us MANY blooming plants! Wear your name tag and bring your checkbook for a late holiday gift to yourself!
