SVO 5628

( Cyc. warscewiczii ‘Wide Petals’ x Cyc. Kevin Clarke ‘SVO’ FCC/AOS )

‘Wide Petals’ is superior to all others in flower size, count, shape and flowering habit.  I don’t believe there is a better warscewiczii out there -- check out the picture. Kevin Clarke (Cyc. herrenhusanum x Cyc. warscewiczii) is truly special.  It is named for my younger son and is the first Cycnoches hybrid from SVO to receive a coveted First Class Certificate (FCC) from the American Orchid Society.  The swan-shaped flowers of Kevin Clarke are bright yellow with light gold spots -- an amazing color -- not to mention the 2 inflorescences carrying 30 perfectly arranged blooms.  Cyc. Kevin Clarke already has improved lip size and form.  The second addition of warscewiczii genes from ‘Wide Petals’ will result in a significant contribution to the overall size, shape, form and lip qualities of this grex.  It is hard to improve on an FCC but this has the potential to do just that, if you only get one Cycnoches hybrid. This is the one.  ( - Fred Clarke of Sunset alley Orchids )

Cyc. Maren Gleason (Cyc. warscewiczii 'SVO' AM/AOS x Cyc. Martha Clarke 'SVO' AM/AOS)

This warscewiczii has superb flower size, count, shape and flowering habit.  The Martha Clarke (herrenhusanum x barthiorum) is truly special, which is why I named it for my wife!  The swan-shaped flowers of Martha Clarke are orange/yellow with dark burgundy spots - amazing colors!  The addition of warscewiczii genes will result in a significant improvement to the overall size, shape, and form.  Large yellow/green flowers with many having red spots - oh my!  Picture of first to bloom  Pic 1 ,  Pic 2 ( - Fred Clarke of Sunset alley Orchids )

SVO 1816

(Cyc. warscewiczii ‘#3’ x Cyc. Jean E. Monnier ‘SVO’ AM/AOS)

The large, swan shaped warscewiczii will increase the flower size of Jean E. Monnier (Cyc. cooperi x Cyc. barthiorum) I expect the rich color and spotting from the Jean E. Monnier will come through and the lip to be modified into a shield like warscewiczii. This cross has been hard to make due to timing of male and female flower blooming periods, I am excited to finally have this available. This is the next level of breeding in Cycnoches. A first bloom seedling. ( - Fred Clarke )
